Palheiro is a lovingly renovated cottage comprising two floors. The ground floor has a cosy comfortable living room area with its own kitchenette and a bathroom with shower. Upstairs is a large bedroom built from local wood in the eaves of the building. It is a truly warm and welcoming room which - because the land outside rises around it - can also be accessed at the upper floor by a split stable-style door which can be opened at the top half to enjoy the views and fresh air. The cottage enjoys its own little verandah leading to your private manicured garden with a table and chairs where you can sip a glass of wine or take a meal as the sun goes down. There is a lovely outdoors barbecue behind the cottage.

10Only a week for a quick trip. Get up early to catch the plane (four o´clock in the morning, aarghhh!). Spent two days in Funchal - City Life - and the rest here, in Calheta. A lovely restored cottage house, and worm welcome from a woman bringing us fresh fruit - Eva. We did a lot of walks - Levadas (enyone is OK) and the alternative route to Pico do Areeiro (DoNt TrY tHiS aT hOmE!!!). If you haven´t tried Bananas, Espada and Espetada, you haven´t really been to Madeira. NJoy!Thanx for the fun&hospitality Eva, Eleutério & Petrrro
We are now safely home and back to work (unfortunately!). Thankyou for such a lovely stay. We enjoyed every minute at your beautiful casa and will most definitely return. Perhaps September?! In the meantime, our love and very best wishes to you all.
